Video Game Development Projects!

Mind|over|Matter Sound with Inhuman and Serving Aces Zombie Hunt

 

Proud to announce the addition of two more game development teams to Mind|over|Matter Sound’s partners!

First up, Inhuman…

Shadow Demon Entertainment has included me into their development of a new sci-fi game called “Inhuman,” built on UDK, and set for a March 2013 Demo release. I’ll be leading the Audio dept. in creation of SFX, Ambiance, organizing Asset Lists, and implementing into UDK. Who knows, maybe even some composing.

Secondly, Serving Aces Zombie Hunt:

a yet-untitled group (but most likely will become “Lightbulb Gaming”) consisting of recent grads across all convictions within the gaming development bubble. The game is titled “Serving Aces Zombie Hunt,” thoroughly designed within Unity engine, and set to be released as an Android OS downloadable app. I’ll be providing compositions mostly, organizing the other Audio members, maybe helping with Sound Design as well. Check back here for updates!

New Sounds and Tracks will be uploaded to Soundcloud too, of course.  In the Game Audio setlist in fact, there are already a few:

New Videos in Sound Design and Composition

Jump on over to the Projects pages for some new videos, that aren’t technically “new,” but the permission to display them in my portfolio is!  They’re a set of two Audio Tests for a game development company.  I was tasked with completing both in 3 days, of which I’m proud to have made the deadline, and more proud of the outcome.  Very stoked with how well they turned out.  Please take a look and tell me what you think!

SFX

The first one is a SFX and Sound Design placement, where the entire video had no sound whatsoever, and I was instructed to add SFX for everything.  Music was optional, and the video really needed something to break between cuts and the action, so I found a period jazz piece from a French singer Edith Piaf, a very popular Jazz and Opera singer from the 40’s, and had her song “Padam Padam” as the BG music for scenes involving the sniper and the opening/end title screen.

Mind|over|Matter Composition | Audio Test
Aww, such pretty rolling hills.

The other video was a test for Composition.  This video came with SFX already in place, and required additional music, so I composed the first melody that came to mind when playing the video a couple of times through, and the rest of the piece filled in more and more.  It was awesome writing like this.  I feel like I could do this all day (which consequently, I did) and am really excited to have had the opportunity to create under such circumstances.  I feel like if I just had a few more days though, I could really fill out some of the transitions and mix it a whole lot cleaner, find some more interesting instrumentation, etc.  But, for a day and some change, I’m super happy with it.

Ravaged

Ravaged is a video game for PC by 2Dawn Games, unreleased currently, and GEAR UP is my entry for their Theme Song contest. The game is a post-apocalyptic multiplayer FPS so I attempted to create a gritty barren landscape with just a hint of hope, as your mission in the game is to defeat some savage opposition at the end of the world.

As for the track itself, it’s been worked into a healthier existence from an old demo called Combi…and just kind of seemed like the right fit for this type of project.  Lemme know what you think about it, as always, I love to hear feedback!
